Skillings, Inc is a civil and environmental engineering and surveying firm headquartered in Lacey, WA for over 36 years. Skillings Lacey office works with in house engineers and the environmental department along with public agencies, developers, contractors, and architects to provide civil engineering design and surveying for site and roadway improvements.

Job Description

Candidate must be able to perform field duties in a party chief capacity. The candidate should have knowledge in the maintenance of field equipment, setup, operations, and proper field procedures to ensure efficient and accurate field data collection, and add value to our survey team.
Minimum Qualifications
• 2 years Minimum Party Chief experience
• High School Diploma / GED
• Valid Driver’s License, and safe driving record
• Ability to use a robotic total station and GPS/RTK
• Ability to use data collection software for field to finish
• Experience preforming topographic mapping
• Flexibility to travel
• Motivated and growth orientated person
• Communicate with staff and clients
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
• Work alone or part of a team with the appropriate field equipment
• Work effectively and maintain a good attitude with our field and office team
• Basic office functions, downloading and processing field data
• Take field notes including depiction sketches
• Maintain quality field procedures

Preferred Qualifications
• Provide field calculations and construction staking
• Provide equipment calibration and maintenance
• Ability to operate Topcon total station and GPS receivers.
• Carlson Survey software and Civil 3d experience.

• Flexible 9/80 (every other Friday off) work schedule

• Reporting Center Remote for Covid19

$30.00 to $40.00 Hr. depending on qualifications
