Job Responsibilities:
In these positions, you will be part of the Survey and Mapping Division and we currently have both office and field positions open with remote work opportunities within Washington state. You will perform work and collaborate alongside the designated Project Surveyor, Survey CAD Technicians, and Survey Party Chiefs on various ongoing projects. These positions ultimately report directly to the Survey Manager, as all Land Surveying endeavors are performed under the direction and guidance of a licensed Professional Land Surveyor.
Job responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
• Interpret survey field-notes, sketches and data which are translated to create and update Right-of-Way, Record of Surveys, ALTA, and topographic drawings and DTMs using Computer Aided Design (CAD) software (Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D)
• Reduction of as-built measurements and perform simple calculations which are included into drawings or supporting documents
• Perform field visits in outdoor setting and various weather conditions
• Interact and collaborate with office staff regarding project particulars and field related topics
• Preparation of plans using CADD, Autodesk Civil3D and/or Bentley Microstation.
• Prepare reports that document the findings of Quality Control survey work validating the Contractor’s construction performance is in accordance with the approved design documents.
• Establish project control through adjusting traverses and level loops.


Qualifications & Requirements:

• An Associate’s Degree or completion of a technical trade school in Engineering, Land Survey, CAD, or related field
• 1+ years of related and linear CAD work experience
• Fundamental knowledge of the Principles and Practices of Land Surveying is essential.
• Self-motivated, be able to work in a fast-paced environment, and be able to complete tasks in timely fashion
• Experience with Autodesk Civil3D and/or Bentley Microstation.
