Job Summary
This position inventories and manages right of way asset information for maintenance, design and planning of our public roadway infrastructure. As a part of our GIS team, you will be collecting and inventorying the county’s road assets. Data collection will be accomplished using a geo-referenced vehicle-mounted imagining system. Our system is currently a Trimble MX7. A major portion of your time will be spent in the office with Trimble’s MX Office Software to extract the assets from the collected data. GIS data is collected on road striping, sidewalks, guardrails, signs, pavement, curbs and more. This data is then incorporated by others into geodatabases to be used by hundreds of Public Works employees to schedule and perform inspections and maintenance of Snohomish County’s road system.
There are only a couple of these elite Trimble MX systems in the region. Come help us learn how to use this unique Trimble hardware and software. This system, combined with the complexities of the hundreds of miles of the County’s road assets, requires problem solving, teamwork and a “can do” attitude. An independent self-starter/self-learner will thrive in this position.
