Duties
Responsibilities:

A key team member primarily working on State Trust Lands in the forested foothills of King, Pierce, Thurston, Kitsap , Grays and Mason counties.
Assists in performing research, field note taking, establishing GPS control, traverse layout, GLO corner and evidence recovery, corner setting and mapping topographic features.
Maintains and uses modern survey equipment (total station, data collector, GPS), chainsaws, 4 wheel drive crew trucks and ATV’s.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:

Four years of experience in performing land survey work, including two years as a skilled land survey technician at Engineering Aide 2 or equivalent level. Two years of college level course work with a major emphasis In surveying may be substituted, year for year, for the required experience.
Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Demonstrates the ability to resolve conflict, write effectively, and communicate with diverse groups both internal and external.
Duties include, but may not be limited to, lifting more than fifty pounds, bending, twisting, walking, and climbing.
The position's assigned duty station is the DNR Tumwater Compound. Projects can be on any parcel of State Lands administered by DNR, but are mostly located in the South Puget Sound Region of Washington. Ability to work on uneven terrain in all weather conditions.
This position is required to travel. Travel can be frequent and for extended periods depending on project locations. The employee is eligible for per diem for meals and lodging costs when in travel status, except when provided.
Must be at least 18 years of age at time of hire.
A valid driver’s license and have two years of driving experience. This position requires driving as an essential function. Finalists and/or interview candidates will be asked to provide a driving record from all states in which they have held a license during the past three years.
