MTN2COAST is looking for a motivated, hardworking Field Survey Technician to join our team in Tumwater, WA. We are a Land Surveying company providing a wide variety of surveying services including, but not limited to, boundary, topography, ALTA, right-of-way, as-builts, aerial mapping, laser scanning, and construction surveys for public, federal and private clients. We are looking for someone who is willing to work hard, motivated to learn, detail oriented, teachable, and has good communication.

Field Survey Technician – Job Description and Responsibilities
 Help the surveyor as required.
 Conduct physical site surveys using a variety of equipment and tools
 Calculate areas and lines using mathematics and computer software.
 Prepare sketches, notes, and perform electronic data collection
 Use of a rod with prisms to reflect the beam of the survey instrument to measure distances and angles.
 Run GPS system to take measurements on survey monuments.
 Responsible for completing accurate and precise measurements with tape measure and other measuring devices.
 This is a very physical job; you will be expected to use a machete for brush cutting and a sledge hammer for pounding on a daily basis.
 Cleaning and maintenance of equipment, vehicles, and other work areas.
 Typical work area includes Tacoma to Longview, but possible travel throughout Washington and Oregon.
Minimum Qualifications:
 Must have a clean driving/legal record and ability to gain clearance to military bases
 Ability to multitask and work on multiple projects at once
 Ability to follow oral and written instructions and communicate clearly with others.
 Able to work in a fast-paced work environment with the flexibility to handle changes with short notice
 Required to work outside in all weather conditions.
 Physical ability to work on uneven surfaces/steep terrain and able to stand for long periods of time.
 Willingness to work overtime as needed
 Strong work ethic with a growth mindset
 Work both independently and as a member of our team
 Respects and maintains survey equipment, vehicles and crew safety.
 Heavy lifting hauling up to 20-40lbs and physically able to safely use a machete and sledge hammer daily
 Complete basic math calculations with accuracy
 Two years of experience preferred in surveying or construction field – Or equivalent of related education
